Top 10 Trends in Walking this Decade

What’s new in walking since we hit the new millenium? Wendy Bumgardner, editor of the Walking section at about.com, has pulled together a list of the Top 10  Walking Trends of the Decade.

My personal favorite: #8, Research Supports Walking for Health and Fitness. A recent study from Duke University shows that walking briskly 12 miles per week or roughly 125 – 200 minutes per week provides health benefits and decreased the risk of cardiovascular disease.
